Eucharist

Eucharist

The Eucharist is the action of Christ and the Christian community in which we celebrate the reality of the presence of the Risen Lord in our midst. In the Eucharist we celebrate our unity in Christ and deepen our relationship with the Lord and one another through this Meal of Thanksgiving in which we recall the Lord's life, death and resurrection.

Strengthened by this Comm, we are sent forth anew to proclaim the Good News of God's love for the whole world. A key to understanding the Eucharist is the quality of our communal life, our unity and dedication to care, service and concern for one another and the larger community.

St. Anthony children who have received at least two years of formation, and are in the third grade, may receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist. Children 3rd grade and above who have not completed two years of formation classes receive the sacrament out of sequence. Please call the Faith Formation Office, 916-392-6362, for information about First Eucharist.

Adults who wish to receive First Eucharist are to participate in the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). Please call Glenn Ostapeck, 916-428-3446, for more information.
